On May 16, 2013, the IFDA New York chapter held its Take A Seat live auction and gala at Lillian August in NYC.
The windows of the Lillian August showroom, just off 5th Ave. in NYC were perfect for the 2013 Take a Seat display.
Passersby were lured into the showroom to see more of the intriguing chair creations.
And we appreciated the great signage.

Scott Hohl of Hohl Home Furnishings took the upcycling mission of Take a Seat seriously when he used discarded shipping crates on the way to the dump to manufacture his chair called Twice Removed.
Anna Israel, a 2013 graduate of FIT-NYC, was inspired by the Striped Beakfish which were discovered alive in a Japanese fishing boat that came ashore in Washington state after crossing the Pacific Ocean amongst debris from the Japan Tsunami. The Latin name for the fish is the name of this chair – Fasciatus.
